Our Beliefs

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

The Trinity

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is perfectly loving and eternally holy.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives. The Old and New Testaments tell one covenantal story of the creation of all things, the fall of mankind, the redemption accomplished by Christ's crucifixion and resurrection, and the consummation of all things when Jesus returns.

The Separation

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. All people are spiritually dead because of sin, unable to respond to God and deserving of eternal condemnation.

The Reconciliation

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and a living relationship with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus, and submit to His will for our lives. Christ's sinless life, his sacrificial death, and his bodily resurrection secures our salvation forever.

The Church

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together. Christ loves his Church as a bridegroom cherishes his bride, and we are called to love and serve each other as parts of one body with Jesus as the head.

Our Denomination

Zion Church is a part of the Presbyterian Church in America, and we are committed to a historic, orthodox, reformed and evangelical faith. Under the authority of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, our constitutional documents include the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Westminster Shorter and Larger Catechisms, and the Presbyterian Church in America’s Book of Church Order.
